Blueprint. FAQs

1. What is the difference between Blueprint and a full service decorator
Blueprint offers all of the services that a full service designer does with the exception of ordering the furniture/accessories, coordinating any trades and managing the implementation process. This keeps the cost down and gives you the flexiblity to implement when and how you want.

2. How did Blueprint start?
Blueprint is the online decorating service from The Space Within. Donna Allen, the principle of The Space Within, saw an opportunity to provide an economical and professional decorating service to clients online by leveraging the growth of furniture and accessories suppliers online.

3. Who are Blueprint's Clients?
Blueprint caters for any client who wants professional decorating advice but doesn't need or want a full service designer. You may want to implement the design yourself but don't have the time to sort through the huge number of products on the market; you may be on a budget and want to implement the design over time or you may not have access to a decorator due to location. Whatever the reason, Blueprint is here!

4. Who will create my design?
Each Blueprint design package is managed by Donna Allen, the principle of The Space Within. Donna is experienced in all aspects of interior decorating and colour consulting to create a beautiful, custom room plan for you.

5. I don't live in Australia or New Zealand. Can I still use Blueprint?
Yes! Blueprint can provide you with a custom design package however the shopping list will be limited to internet suppliers who ship to your area.

6. How do you design for a room that you've never seen?
All of the information requested by Blueprint (photos, inspiration pages, questionnaire, etc) is designed to provide the neceesary background to create the design. As with any project however communication is key. If there are any questions, Donna will contact you via phone or email.

7. Can I use pieces of furniture or accessories that I already own?
Absolutely! All you need to do is provide dimensions & photos of the piece(s) and Blueprint will work to incorporate them in the new design. If for any reason we don't feel it's appropriate to use the item, we will let you know and work with you to reuse the piece in another room of your home.

8. When and how do I pay?
Full payment is required before Blueprint begins the design process. Currently, Blueprint accepts cheque and direct deposit as payment methods.

9. Can I pay by credit card?
At this stage, Blueprint is not accepting credit cards however this may change in the future.

10. When will I receive my design?
Blueprint will complete your design and post it to you within 4 weeks of receiving full payment and all of the required information. In the event that this is not possible, Blueprint will advise you as soon as possible and provide a revised schedule.

11. If I have questions during the implementation, what do I do?
Blueprint offers email and telephone support during implementation. If you have a question about the design, please contact us.

12. What if I'm unable to order a product that you've recommended?
Every effort is made to recommend products that are available and accessible to each client. If you find a product is sold out or no longer available, please contact us and we will recommend an alternative.
