Blueprint. How To Photograph Your Room

Step 1: Take several snaps of your room from different angles.

Step 2: Capture elements such as doors, windows, and fireplaces as well as any items that you are grappling with what to do with, such as ceiling beams, structural supports or unique architectural features.

Step 3: Include photos of any items that you are keen to incorporate into your final design eg furniture, artwork or accessories.

Step 4: Finally, throw in a photo that captures the style of your home - this could be the exterior of your house or an architectural feature or even a room you've already completed.

Step 5: That's it! When you've finished you can upload your photos and send to Blueprint!

Hints/tips

  1. It's best to take photos in the daytime when there is soft/filtered light. Very strong sunlight creates harsh shadows making it difficult to see detail.

  2. If in doubt, take a photo of it! There is no such thing as too many pictures.

  3. Don't worry about "presenting" the room - it's best for us to see it in it's natural state so we can better understand how the room is used.
